Hello Again! Is it just me, or is this year zooming by?!
This month I spent A REALLY LONG TIME reading a really long book: Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. My mom doesn’t really read novels very often, so when she mentioned how captivated she’d become by this entire EIGHT BOOK SERIES I jumped at the chance to pick up a title for the category “a book your mom loves.” I was frustrated by how slow of a reader I am, but the content is really engaging and definitely held my attention. The basic premise is that an English woman from 1945 is transported back in time to Scotland 1743. And that is just the beginning! If you enjoy historical romance this book is for you. It’s also a TV show, but I haven’t checked it out yet.
The second book I read zoomed by in a flash, and filled my category for “a book that was originally written in a different language.” The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo is a HUGELY POPULAR book known to sell constantly at bookstores and maintains a 40+ person wait list at the library!
I started a third book but it didn’t grab me like I thought it would. More on that one at the end of June. In the meantime, join the cleaning frenzy…
